Mooncup (2022)

Production designer, Propmaker, Set Dresser

For a university module we created an advertisement for the mooncup brand to enter into the NAHEMI Kodak Commercial Awards 2022. Our advert was based in real experiences, featuring a montage of those little awkward moments any person who menstruates can relate to.

To make sure that the advertisement popped and had a unique ultra-stylised aesthetic that complimented the ads humour and subjects I decided to assign a dominant colour scheme to each scene. I chose pink and blue for scenes where feminine hygiene products or masculine products appear dominant to adhere to stereotypes that were featured in the script as a purposeful theme. During the scene featuring the 'boyfriends messy bathroom' I also made the choice to take inspiration from my own and many friends stories of boyfriend's real messy bathrooms  in order to contribute to the humour of the piece as it would be rooted in a relatable, shared experience as was the aim of the advert as a whole.
