Care (2022)
Student Film - Production Designer, Props, Costumes, Set Dressing
Care was my final graduate film that I worked on as production designer. It was a drama depicting the pressures put on over worked care home workers with a surrealist twist.
Mood Boards & Plans:

I created a collection of mood boards ranging from general ones for the general aesthetic and individual ones for the visuals of each room setting. Whilst carrying through general thematic elements of my stylistic vision for a care home in the bedrooms including items such as doilies, silk flowers and the medical props, I also wanted Mike and Mary's rooms to feel very unique. Particularly since we would be using the same location and re-dressing it due to budgetary restrictions. Due to the nature of the characters, Mary who is severly debilitated and Mike who is much more functioning, I wanted to reflect this in the set design. For example, as you can see from the mood boards I chose very ornamental dressing for Mary's room such as china dolls and old fashioned trinkets. In contrast I chose much more functional items for Mike's room such as dominoes, puzzles and books along with very personal items like pictures of him and Mary.
